The U.S. wrestling community will want to be in Ames, Iowa from June 18-19 to see the nation's best wrestlers competing at the World Team Trials, held at Iowa State Univ. In addition to this outstanding wrestling action, there will also be some very valuable educational opportunities for athletes and coaches to improve their skills. USA Wrestling will be holding a Silver Level Coaches College from June 14-19, offering coaches a chance to expand their knowledge and develop more champions. In addition, the USA Wrestling World Team Trials Developmental Camp will also be held from June 14-19, providing wrestlers age 12-18 with outstanding instruction from talented and inspiring heroes. Those that participate in both activities will also receive tickets to the World Team Trials event, giving them an opportunity to enjoy the nation's top stars in action, and witness the highest level of wrestling in the nation. The Silver Coaches College is the next step past the bronze certification in the National Coaches Education Program (NCEP). Participants in the college will take part in classroom and technique instruction that offers tremendous opportunity for growth and development. Coaches will discuss and learn about: * Program Development * Nutrition * Philosophy of Coaching * Weight Training * Psychology of Coaching * Risk Management * Video Study * and many more key topics. The cost is $450 for residents and $250 for commuters. This annual camp features coaches and athletes from past U.S. Olympic and World Teams who can help young wrestlers to reach their potential. The list of instructors is stocked full of wrestling stars who have proven that they can build champions. They include: * Olympic champions Dan Gable, John Smith, Kevin Jackson, Steve Fraser * Olympians Ike Anderson, Joe Williams, Dan Chandler * Championship coaches Jim Zalesky, Brad Penrith, Dave Bennett. In addition to learning from these great instructors, campers will be able to witness the nation's top wrestling stars in action.
