USA Wrestling has initiated a new Regional Elite Developmental International Tour Program. Elite high school wrestlers from every state are being recruited to participate on four regional tour teams. The regions are Northeast, South, Midwest and West. The states that are assigned to each region are listed below, as well as the tentative destinations for each tour. Cadet and Junior Division wrestlers who have placed in a USA Wrestling State, Regional or National Championship in either freestyle or Greco Roman may apply for a tour spot on their appropriate regional team. Place finishers from High School State Wrestling Championships may also apply as long as this criterion does not violate the rules of the High School Athletic Association in their state. Tour staff for each regional team will be selected out of the National Coaches Pool and assigned by the USA Wrestling Coach Selection Committee. The tours will be operated by World Sports Alliance, who is the "Official International Exchange Coordinator of USA Wrestling." For specific details, such as tour cost, departing airport and travel dates, interested athletes should call World Sports Alliance at 1 866-WSA-Tour (972-8687) or visit www.wrestlingtours.com. Teams are expected to fill quickly as space is limited.
