U.S. wrestlers, competing in men's and women's freestyle wrestling, battled top Russian athletes in a World Dual meet in Moscow, Russia, Jan. 24. The U.S. men freestyle wrestlers won six of the nine matches in their dual meet against top Russian wrestlers. The U.S. women freestyle wrestlers had three victories in their seven matches against talented Russian athletes. The names of some of the Russian women wrestlers were not available at press time, and some of the scores are not available. The information will be updated when received by USA Wrestling. "Everyone wrestled well," said Terry Steiner, USA Wrestling's National Women's Coach. "We just got here a day ago. Some of the athletes had less than 24 hours before they had to compete. For the women, the Russians had three of their top women in the lineup, and the men had to face some very tough opponents."
