USA Wrestling has officially recognized three more Junior Olympic Program Training Centers in the state of Colorado to conduct official Junior Olympic Program Training activities. These training sites are being coordinated by the Colorado School of Wrestling and have been endorsed by the USA Wrestling State Association of Colorado. The USA Wrestling Junior Olympic Program Training Center is a national developmental program being offered to all states to enhance learning for the more serious, committed wrestler who is looking to advance on to the next level. The program has been designed to bring elite coaches down to the high school and youth levels, increasing skills as well as motivation, work ethic and admiration of the sport. This program has been set in motion to encourage wrestlers to compete nationally, wrestle in college and pursue long-term goals on the mat. The Junior Olympic Program Training Center concept also hopes to give the state association a stronger presence in national competition. The three new training centers in Colorado will conduct activities at the following locations: Chaparral High School in Parker, Colorado; Legacy Senior High School in Broomfield, Colorado; and Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The programs are being overseen by Colorado School of Wrestling Chairperson Ed Gutierrez. "Colorado continues to lead the nation in the number of Junior Olympic Program Training Centers established, which is a tribute to the rich wrestling history in the state," said Mark Scott, USA Wrestling Director of State Services. "The addition of these three Junior Olympic Program Training Centers adds even more opportunities for the USA Wrestling members in Colorado to enhance their skills and appreciation of the sport." "The Colorado School of Wrestling is a great organization that is taking steps to provide opportunities for a wide variety of wrestling athletes. I know they will work hard at making these Training Centers successful and rewarding for the athletes that attend," Scott added.
