Greco-Roman World Cup date changed to Nov. 5-7; U.S. announces two lineup changes

The 2004 Greco-Roman World Cup has been moved to Nov. 5-7. The event will still be held in Tbilisi, Georgia.    The World Cup is the annual international dual meet championship. The U.S. will compete against teams from host Georgia, Belarus, Germany, Iran and Russia.    Georgian wrestling officials have not given an official reason for the date change. FILA approved the new date for the event.    The U.S. team will also have two lineup changes. Lindsey Durlacher (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) will replace Sam Hazewinkel (Pensacola, Fla./Gator WC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. and Russ Davie (Cleveland, Ohio/New York AC) will replace Paul Devlin (Cascade, Colo./U.S. Army) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.    Durlacher is a three-time U.S. Nationals runner-up and won a silver medal at the 2003 Pan American Championships.    Davie placed sixth at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. He was also a 2004 Pan American Championships silver medalist and placed fourth at the 2004  U.S. Nationals.    The rest of the U.S. roster will remain the same, as previously announced.    In this year's Greco-Roman Olympic Games, Russia won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze and had one wrestler place fourth. Georgia captured one silver medal and had one wrestler place sixth. Belarus won one bronze medal. Iran had two wrestlers place fourth and another place fifth. Germany did not place any wrestlers in the top six at their respective weight classes.    In the 2003 Greco-Roman World Cup held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the U.S. team placed fifth.
