USA Wrestling's State Leaders Summit was held August 19-22, 2004 at the Sheraton Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo. It was the largest State Leaders Summit in the 12-year history of the event. A total of 77 state leaders from 34 states participated in a wide-ranging variety of seminars on grant writing, organizational skills, insurance, the National Coaches Education Program and the use of online reporting. The three days were filled with the leaders meetings, networking and socializing in a variety of ways all in pursuit of making their state organizations bigger and better. Led by the newly elected Chairperson of State Chairpersons Archie Randall of Oklahoma, the leaders discussed events, schedules, national teams and shared information and experience. "The 2004 State Leaders Summit was a tremendous success," said Director of State Services Mark Scott. "With over 70 key state leaders in attendance, the Summit provided a unique forum for individuals to network, learn about new ways to be productive and interface with the USA Wrestling staff." "It was great to witness so many state leaders interacting and enjoying the tremendous setting offered by Colorado Springs. We are already looking forward to the 2005 Summit," Scott said. The hard work and effort of these state leaders will be seen in stronger USA Wrestling programs and activities on the state levels in the future.
