Wisconsin-Whitewater Names New Assistant Wrestling Coaches

Luke Goral and Phil Klamm have been named assistant coaches for Warhawk wrestling for the 2004-2005 season. Goral and Klamm will assist Tim Fader the newly named Whitewater head wrestling coach. Goral has assisted Fader at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse during the 2003-2004 season. Goral will be the head assistant coach this year for the Warhawks. Goral assisted Fader in winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship team as well as finishing fifth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Championship. Goral also was an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for the 2002-2003 season. Goral has his master of science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in sports administration. Goral competed in varsity collegiate wrestling from 1998-2001. Goral was National All-American three times, the team captain his junior and senior year, voted by teammates and coach two times as the most inspirational wrestler and also voted three times as the most valuable wrestler by coaches at wrestling competitions. Klamm has been an assistant coach at Whitewater since the 2000 season. Klamm has assisted the Whitewater wrestling team in academic advising, recruiting, fundraising, scheduling and much more. Klamm has recently finished his master degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Klamm competed in varsity collegiate wrestling from 1996-2000. Klamm has been named a Scholar All-American three times, a WIAC Scholar Athlete four times, team captain his senior year, UW-Whitewater Chancellor's Scholar Athlete award and the UW-Whitewater Sportsmanship Award. When asked about the assistant coaches for this season, Tim Fader replied, "Luke is one of the top technicians in our state right now. Having worked together last year, I know what Luke brings to the Whitewater program. He can make a difference in our room. Luke has been named All-American four times and also an Academic All-American. Luke will assist in all aspects of the wrestling program". Fader also spoke about of Phil Klamm saying, "I'm excited that Phil will stay with the program that he has been involved with for nine years. He is a NCAA qualifier and an Academic All-American. He is very well known on campus and in this wrestling community. Phil will be instrumental in keeping the Whitewater tradition intact. He will also be teaching half time in the HPRC department". The UW-Whitewater 2003-2004 wrestling team had a 10-4 dual meet record, three Scholastic All-Americans, five National Qualifiers, two All-Americans, tied 13th NCAA division III and third in the WIAC.
