Dziedzic re-elected USA Wrestling President at Board of Directors meeting in Fargo, N.D.

The USA Wrestling Board of Directors held its semi-annual meeting at the FargoDome in Fargo, N.D, Saturday, July 31. USA Wrestling President Stan Dziedzic of Roswell, Ga. chaired the meeting.    The Board of Directors held elections for officers of the association, as well as a number of positions on USA Wrestling standing committees.    All five of USA Wrestling's officers were re-elected by acclimation to the positions that they served prior to the meeting. Each will serve another two-year term. The officers of USA Wrestling are:  President - Stan Dziedzic of Roswell, Ga.  First Vice President - Jim Ravannack of Metairie, La.  Second Vice President - Duane Morgan of Hollister, Calif.  Secretary - Bill Stecklein of Sea Isle City, N.J.  Treasurer - Van Stokes of Clarksville, Tenn.    The Board of Directors also elected at-large members to the Board. Those elected to two-year terms on the Board were Chuck Elvin of Lenexa, Kan., Dan Gable of Iowa City, Iowa, Tod Giles of Spring Valley, N.Y., Jim Keen of Ann Arbor, Mich., Jeff Levitetz of Boca Raton, Fla., Larry Sciacchetano of Baton Rouge, La. and John Welch of Liberty Corner, N.J.    Two members were elected to open spots on the Executive Committee, which serves on behalf of the Board between Board of Directors meetings. The elected Executive Committee members were Rick Tucci of Pembroke Pines, Fla. and Greg Strobel of Bethlehem, Pa.    Positions on a number of standing committees were elected. They included:    Long Range Planning: Ed Gould of Merrick, N.Y., Les Gutches of Corvallis, Ore., Duane Morgan of Hollister, Calif., John  Welch of Liberty Corner, N.J. and Bill Crum of New York, N.Y.    Freestyle Sport: Les Gutches of Corvallis, Ore., Greg Strobel of Bethlehem, Pa., John Welch of Liberty Corner, N.J., Archie Randall of Mustang, Okla., Mike Duroe of Iowa City, Iowa    Greco-Roman Sport: Al Kastl of Clinton Twp., Mich., Shawn Sheldon of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rusty Davidson of Grants, N.M., Kevin Bracken of Colorado Springs, Colo., John Branch of Bakersfield, Calif.    Women's Sport: Joe Corso of Des Moines, Iowa, Tadaaki Hatta of Oberlin, Ohio, Jackie Berube of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rusty Davidson of Grants, N.M., Mike Duroe of Iowa City, Iowa    Freestyle Coach Selection: Greg Strobel of Bethlehem, Pa., Jim Ravannack of Metairie, La.    Greco-Roman Coach Selection: Joe DeMeo of Niskayuna, N.Y., Archie Randall of Mustang, Okla.    Women's Coach Selection: Nancy Schultz of Los Gatos, Calif., Stephanie Murata of Minden, Nev.    Steering Committee: Rance Stein of Oklahoma City, Okla., Stephanie Murata of Minden, Nev., John Welch of Liberty Corner, N.J.    The Board also approved the 2004-05 fiscal year budget for the organization. The budget includes total revenues of $6,597,635 and total expenses of $6,451,120.    In discussing the fiscal year that ends August 31, Treasurer Van Stokes said, "The organization is in stable condition. It has solid management. The receivables are current. The cash flow is positive, predictable and steady."    The report of the Junior Olympic Committee, presented by Duane Morgan, was accepted by a vote of the Board. Among the items that were approved was a change in the selection process for the Junior World and University World teams, an update on the bylaws for the Coaches Council, and a price change for Coaches membership.    A considerable amount of discussion was held concerning the changes in the international wrestling rules which are expected to be finalized after the 2004 Olympic Games. FILA Bureau member Larry Sciacchetano presented his report concerning the international wrestling federation, and answered numerous questions about what to expect on the international scene.
