Fox named USA Wrestling Junior Person of the Year

Patricia Fox of Kendall Park, N.J. has been named Junior Person of the Year by USA Wrestling, the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States. This award goes to a nationally respected leader who works with athletes and programs on the Junior level (grades 9-12).    Fox has worked as a volunteer for USA Wrestling New Jersey for six years. She is also the secretary of the New Jersey Junior and Kids Executive Boards and the Coaches Council.    In 2004, Fox took on the role of head of the New Jersey women's developmental program.    For the past five years, she has been New Jersey's top pairing official while also overseeing pairing at developmental and state tournaments. She has also represented New Jersey pairing officials at numerous regional competitions as well as the Junior and Cadet National Championships.    Fox also serves as the director of scheduling, which entails planning the various developmental and state tournaments for New Jersey teams each year, and the director of the New Jersey uniform program.    She holds a bronze-level certification in the USA Wrestling National Coaches Education Program (NCEP).     Fox is a major proponent of the creation and operation of the New Jersey Developmental Training Center (NJDTC). Now in its third year of operation, this program offers athletes' intense instruction in freestyle, Greco-Roman and folkstyle technique.
