Pat Tocci joins National Wrestling Coaches Association staff as Assistant Director

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) is excited to announce that Patrick Tocci II will join our NWCA headquarters staff effective January 12, 2001 as the new Assistant Director. Tocci will replace Mike Clair who was recently named as Executive Director of the State Chapters for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum. "Our organization is fortunate to have hired a person with Patrick's depth of experience as an athlete, coach and administrator," said Mike Moyer, NWCA Executive Director. "He has strong connections in the wrestling world, especially within scholastic and collegiate wrestling. He has been involved in wrestling at its highest level throughout his life." Tocci is originally from the Bethlehem, Pa., where he placed third in the 1989 PIAA State Tournament, competing for Liberty High School. He attended Brown Univ. in 1989 where he competed at the 118-pound weight class. Patrick graduated from Brown University in 1993, then moved on to Harvard Univ., where he served as an assistant wrestling coach under Jay Weiss. In 1996, Tocci was appointed Head Wrestling Coach at Kutztown University (Pa.) where he built the Golden Bears' wrestling program into a nationally recognized NCAA Division II program. Under his four-year tutelage, Kutztown advanced nine wrestlers to the NCAA Division II Championships, two who became All Americans. Additionally, five of his student-athletes received academic All American honors. In May 2000, Patrick accepted the position of Assistant Manager of Admissions and Financial Aid for the Massachusetts General Hospital - Institute of Health Professionals where he was responsible for the management and appropriate disbursement of all federal loan programs, grants, and scholarships totaling more than $5 million dollars.
