Olympic coaches to give clinics as part of week of Women's Olympic Training in New York City

Three Olympic Coaches have been named for the Clinics that will be held at the diSilvestri Wrestling Center on the Campus of Monsignor Farrell High School on Staten Island June 21-24 and June 28 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.    The Clinics are being held in conjunction with the first ever Women's Olympic Team Training Camp that is also being held at Farrell.    The schedule for the clinics is as follows:    Monday, June 21 - Andy Seras  2004 Greco Roman Olympic Coach.  Seras is the head coach at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and is one of the most prolific Greco wrestlers in U.S. History having reached the National finals 12 times.    Wednesday, June 23 - Bobby Douglas  2004 Olympic Men's Freestyle Coach.  Douglas, the current head coach at Iowa State is on his third Olympic Staff.  Douglas was the head coach of the 1992 Olympic Team    Thursday, June 24 - Terry Steiner  2004 USA Wrestling National Women's Coach.  Steiner was an NCAA Champion and placed 8 times in National Freestyle competition.  He guided the Women's Freestyle Team to a second place finish in the 2003 World Championships at Madison Square Garden.    There will be clinics held on Tuesday, June 22 and Monday, June 28 as well.  Clinicians will be named within the next few days.    The clinic is free to a limited number of wrestlers who participated in this Spring's Metropolitan Wrestling Association's "Beat the Streets" practices held at Farrell, Hunter College and North Bergen High School.  Wrestlers from that program who wish to go to the Olympic Coaches' Clinic should contact Bobby Penotti to reserve a space.    There is a limited amount of space for other wrestlers.  Cost for non-MWA wrestlers is $100 for all five clinics or $25 for each clinic.  To reserve a spot, e-mail btsny1@aol.com.   You will be e-mailed back either a confirmation or a notice that the clinic is full.  All payments must be made at the door.  All wrestlers must have a USA Wrestling Card, which will be available at the door for $30.    All New York City and Hudson County Coaches are admitted free.    Coaches from outside the area who sign up minimum of 8 wrestlers for the whole week are admitted free.
