Indy in Replay NCEP Learning Module Volume 2 of the Repeat Performance Series In off years from the Olympics, USA Wrestling hosts the World Team Trials in Men's Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women's Freestyle. The champion at each weight earns the right to represent the United States in the World Championships. In many ways the World Championships is a more difficult title to win. More countries are represented, and it is more difficult to prepare for the large field of entrants. The men's tournaments wrestle the following weight classes 55 kgs, 60, kgs, 66 kgs, 74 kgs, 84 kgs, 96 kgs, and 120 kgs. The women's weight classes are 48 kgs, 51 kgs, 55 kgs, 59 kgs, 63 kgs, 67 kgs, 72 kgs. In 2004 Women's Freestyle wrestling will debut in the Athens, Olympic Games at the following four weight classes: 48 kgs, 55 kgs, 63 kgs, and 72 kgs. It is hoped that a successful showing in the 2004 games will lead the International Olympic Committee to make all seven weight classes "Olympic weights" for the 2008 games in Beijing, China. The World Team Trials always showcase tremendous wrestling skills for coaches to see. The winner of U.S. Nationals in Las Vegas earns the right to sit out the first two days of the tournament. This is called the Challenge Tournament. The winner of the Challenge Tournament on the final day wrestles the U.S. Nationals Champion in a best two out of three series. Attached you will find the worksheet for completing the "Indy in Replay" learning module. Please fill out the worksheet completely and legibly and return it to USA Wrestling's NCEP office.
