USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program constantly strives to build the sport of wrestling by developing America's wrestling coaches. The NCEP certifies over a thousand coaches annually at the Copper and Bronze Levels, but has lagged behind at the Silver and Gold Levels. Nationally there are nearly 20,000 Bronze and Copper Certified coaches, but only a little more than a hundred Silver Certified and less than fifty Gold Certified coaches. The National Coaches Education Program does not limit access to Silver and Gold Certification. In the past requirements to become Silver and Gold Certified were centered-around a tedious and less-enjoyable process of paper writing. To fully reach coaches in USA Wrestling with greater success the NCEP has adjusted the nature of the tasks for Silver and Gold Certification. All coaches who are USA Wrestling members can become Silver and Gold Certified. Now the process for coaches working to achieve the Silver or Gold Level credits coaches for working within the USA Wrestling system. Also, coaches have various options for receiving task credit by completing Silver Modules released through the NCEP. To view the newly released Silver and Gold tasks click here. The last task added by the NCEP is a worksheet evaluation of the book by Jessica Gavora entitled "Tilting the Playing Fields". This groundbreaking book is a must read for any wrestling coach worried for the sport of wrestling as it is attacked by a twisted misrepresentation of the true intent of Title IX. Steve Makein of Connecticut created the Silver and Gold Module for "Tilting the Playing Fields" as part of his coursework for his Gold Certification. Coaches who wish to receive task credit for this module can download the worksheet by clicking here. Coaches are encouraged to take a second look at becoming Silver and Gold Certified with USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program. The process is not limited to only America's elite coaches. Instead Silver and Gold Certification is an open process that can open new doors for coaches in the USA Wrestling ranks. The sport of wrestling deserves Americas best educated and most dedicated coaches in the amateur sporting ranks. Take the time to become Silver and Gold Certified!
