Central Michigan's Jason Mester Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

Central Michigan's Jason Mester (141lb., Fr., Mineral Point, Wis.) is the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week after going 3-0 last week for the Chippewas with one pin.  Mester opened the week with a 7-5 decision over ninth-ranked Mike Castillo from Michigan State, then was 2-0 with a pin at the Hampton Inn *Duels* in Mount Pleasant.  One of those victories was over Chad Caros from Edinboro, the 14th-ranked team in the country.  Mester was named to the all-tournament team for his weight class.    Other Nominees For This Week*s Award:    Buffalo's Josh States (184lb., Sr., Lockport, N.Y.) went 4-0 last week with one pin.  Won a decision in over a wrestler from Clarion, then was 3-0 in matches at the Buckeye Duals.    Eastern Michigan*s Mike Feeney (174lb., So., Scioto, Ohio) went 3-0 with  two pins last week at the Buckeye Duals.    Kent State's Jim Swetter (Hwt., Jr., Brunswick, Ohio) won his only match via pin over Eastern Michigan's Derrick Parker, his 10th pin of the season.
